famous african american music composers
expert on african music?

if you’re an expert on african music…
could you tell me some compositional forms and the famous composers/musical centers there are for african music? (any type african, … which doesnt include african-american)

thanks!

okay, african music dirives influences of the countries it borders. in the northers regions you will hear a more indian influence an the west and south west are influenced by the carribean and so on. the same goes for thier regonal dances that they do. most of all all african music is poly eurythmic. more than one beat and sometimes more than one melody at a time. as for famouse composers i dont know ( queen bee) i think is one. but off hand i know that by region you could find it on a cd at barnes and noble. its called music from africa or something like that. good luck
